What is low vision?

A person has low vision if they have a visual acuity of 20/70 or less, which cannot be corrected with glasses, contacts, pharmaceutical therapy, or surgery.

Which eye diseases can cause vision loss?

Some common eye diseases that cause vision loss are:

  • Cataracts
  • Macular degeneration
  • Glaucoma
  • Diabetic eye disease

Do I need a referral to access CABVI services?

You can access CABVI’s service through a referral from your eye doctor or a self-referral. However, if you contact us directly, we may still need to reach out to your eye doctor for your recent exam information.
