Welcome to the New CABVI.org! We are excited to reveal the new design for our website. However, we didn’t just improve our design, we introduced and improved several new accessibility features for those who are blind or visually impaired. As time changes, we have to change as well. These features will make accessing our website easier and more inclusive to all audiences.

Here is a rundown of the accessibility features we have to offer:

Text Size
First up, we have a returning feature from the earlier version of the site – Text Size. Users can adjust the size of the text on the site to make it as large or as small as you desire. There are four different font sizes to choose from, and they can be useful for those with low vision who need magnified text.

Contrast
We introduced a new contrast setting. Users can choose between black and white, black on yellow, and reversed yellow on black color themes, along with the default white, black, and blue theme. These contrast options can help reduce eye strain and make our website more user-friendly.

Text Only
Here is another new feature that we added to the site –Text-Only Mode. The feature removes all images from the website, which allows users to efficiently read only the text on the  Text-Only mode also makes the site easy to navigate for people using screen reading software. With vital information about services on the site, we want to make it as easy as possible to access.

Alt-Text
The last feature we want to highlight is that every image on the website has alt-text added to the website. Alt-text includes a brief image description added to photos, videos and tabs. This allows users using screen reading software to read and navigate through alt-text for every page and image feature on the website. The alt-text feature is another way we can reduce barriers to accessing information on our website.

All of these features can be mixed and matched to provide a custom experience for whatever your needs are. We set out to provide the quality of service we offer to people who are blind and visually impaired and translate that on a website that meets those needs online. We urge you to give the website a look around and give the features a try!
