CABVI Hosts Annual Vehicles for Vision Car Show
UTICA, NY — The annual Vehicles for Vision Car Show and Invitational presented by Village Motors was held on Sunday, Aug. 17, along the CABVI campus at Elizabeth and Kent streets in Utica. Car enthusiasts and members of the community came together to see an array of classic and custom vehicles, including some impressive supercars.
Independent judges chose the winners in select classes in the community car show, as well as first, second and third place for the invitational.
Brian Laughlin took first place in the invitational for his 1967 Corvette Convertible; second place went to Alan Rosenblum for his 1966 Shelby Cobra; and third place was presented to Dominic Padula for his 2022 Corvette.
Overall Best in Show in the community car show was awarded to Aldo Diaz’s 1988 Toyota Supra.
Other class winners included:
- Class 1: Antique – Duane Isenberg, 1923 Model T
- Class 2: Classic – Dan Asch, 1965 Mustang
- Class 3: Contemporary – Blase Kirkpatrick, 2001 Infiniti I30
- Class 4: Sport – Aldo Diaz, 1988 Toyota Supra
- Class 5: Foreign – Ross Morgan, 1985 Toyota MR2
- Class 6: Truck – Phil Williams, 1947 Hudson
Each winner in the community car show took home a trophy and $100 cash prize.
Attendees enjoyed exciting raffles, a $2 hot dog meal, and a unique interactive experience with Freedom Guide Dogs, who offered blindfolded walks with three guide dogs in training, including Iris, who is proudly sponsored by CABVI.
All proceeds from the event contribute to CABVI’s programs and services.
