Assistant Retail Operations Manager

CABVI is seeking an Assistant Retail Operations Manager to Primarily responsible for all CounterPoint and e-Commerce site updates and training. Assist in identifying, purchasing and securing products and supplies for Base Supply Centers and e-commerce site and assists in the development of marketing strategies. Assist with ClickOn Supplies commercial e-Commerce platform in all areas. Supervises the general operations and directs activities of store managers and staff.

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a high level of teamwork, computer skills, attention to detail, problem solving, negotiation, marketing, flexibility, dependability, communication, and planning and organizational skills. Must be able to coordinate multiple tasks and quickly resolve issues. Must be able to relate to the military mode of conducting business. Must be willing to travel to store locations on a regular and/or as needed basis.

 

KEY JOB ELEMENTS:

· Assist in the selection of product lines for BSC Stores in compliance with military, NIB, and the Committee for Purchase regulations.

· Assist the Retail Operations Manager in devising and implementing marketing and sales strategies for the BSC Stores, and both the government and commercial e-commerce sites.

· Research suppliers and negotiates with vendors for cost effectiveness, calculates retail prices, and is aware of the competitive market.

· Assist store employees with developing product displays and customer strategies to enhance sales. Works closely with other CABVI personnel on advertising and marketing projects.

· Make presentations and sales calls with store employees and independently.

· Maintain contact, and strengthen relationships, with Base Personnel.

· Assist Operations Manager with supervising all BSC employees.

· Assist store staff with finding new customers and increasing sales.

· Assist the Retail Operations Manager in developing semi-annual meetings for store managers and CABVI senior leadership.

· Assist the Retail Operations Manager in ensuring that inventory levels are maintained at quantities adequate to meet customer demands.

· Monitor sales and profit margins to ensure that store locations are on target to achieve budget.

· Maintain and update the POS database.

· Maintain and update the e-Commerce sites (ETS substitutions, adding new customers, site headers).

· Make regular/monthly trips to the stores to inspect the store operations and as needed to support the operation of stores due to staffing issues or concerns.

· Perform annual inventories at all store locations.

· Adapt to change and completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.

· Consistently achieves annual performance objectives.

 

COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Must be knowledgeable regarding POS applications, e-Commerce site, databases, and spreadsheets. Must have excellent mathematical skills. Must understand laws and regulations of state and federal agencies including the JWOD and state use programs. Must be willing to learn new technology.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of three years of retail management experience or an associate’s degree with a minimum of seven years retail management experience required.
