US Senator Gillibrand Tours Central Industries and Vision Health & Wellness Center

As part of her manufacturing tour of upstate New York, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand chose CABVI as one of her stops on Wednesday, July 15. She is calling on legislation to invest in workforce training and education, as well as American made products, in response to the COVID-19 crisis. She learned about the significant productivity established in Central Industries and our partnership with SHOWA, the only domestic glove manufacturer in the country.

Gillibrand will call for $15 billion in funding for workforce training infrastructure — including training, career navigation, and other services — to help workers quickly gain and refine essential skills to re-enter the workforce.

Gillibrand’s staff and CABVI representatives toured our Central Industries and finished in our Vision Health and Wellness Center.

Central Industries has been hard at work to provide gloves, masks, and other essential needs to our customers across the United States, while guaranteeing that we protect the health of our employees. As we crossed the street to the Vision Health and Wellness Center, Kathy Beaver, vice president of rehabilitation, informed the Senator of our initiatives and all of the services we have to offer. Senator Gillibrand was impressed by agency programming, and everything done to continue providing employment during the pandemic. She was also thrilled with the new possibilities of our rehabilitation programs the new building will offer to our consumers.

Members of the CABVI Public Policy Team will mainstream open communication with the Senator and her team, to keep her abreast of our work. Members of CABVI’s Public Policy Team include Dan Phillips, Steve Gannon, Dennis Webster, Ron Baron, and Tara Capponi.
